College Counseling Packages
Comprehensive Luxe
This is offered to Freshman, Sophomores, or Juniors, and includes everything from any of the packages below as well as:
- “Field trip” to the Channel Islands for you and up to three family members to get to know one another and do our initial meeting on the water and in nature.
- In-person meetings (geography dependent)
- Guided college visits (by me) for colleges local to me (from San Luis Obispo to Irvine, CA)
- Additional meeting hours and essay hours
Athlete Package
This contains everything included in the Comprehensive Packages as well as:
- Guidance on building a highlight video and website if applicable
- Help with navigating the recruitment process and communicating with college coaches
- Guidance on registering for NCAA or NAIA eligibility
- Assistance with amateurism certification
- Ongoing guidance on college selection and athletic program research
- Help navigating the scholarship, preferred walk-on, or walk-on situation
Comprehensive for Frosh/Soph
This contains everything included in the Comprehensive Package for Juniors as well as:
- Guidance on course selection and the narrative your transcript is telling
- Guidance on volunteer, community service, and extra curricular work that will make your application pop
- Career counseling and mapping to help find the right path for you based on your talents and interests
- Additional test planning and strategies for success
Comprehensive for Juniors
- Thorough “get to know you” session so I can best advise throughout the process
- Review of transcripts and recalculation of GPA
- Advice on rounding out your resume with summer activities (volunteering, work, hobbies, etc.)
- Testing advice and strategies
- Backward planning and schedule creation to meet application deadlines
- College list creation
- Essay brainstorming and topic selection
- Essay writing and revision guidance for all essays, statements, and supplementals
- Application help
- Interview/meeting prep and expectation setting
- Guidance on handling deferrals, being waitlisted, and your final college selection
Hourly
This includes any of the services provided above, but selected “a la carte” and billed at an hourly rate to customize your counseling experience.
This would be ideal for a student who only needs essay help, or help making sure the applications are complete and submitted on time, or guidance in crafting a college list.
If you think your child will want/need help in several of these areas, you should consider one of the packages above.
Independent Teaching
I have over ten years of teaching experience at a high end independent school in Los Angeles. I’ve taught a wide variety of classes, from Robotics and Engineering to Creative Writing and Personal Finance. I am student-focused and great at gearing lessons to student interests and needs. I am also very soft-skill attentive and really look at developing the complete child rather than just focusing on the curriculum for the course.
